Board of Trustees Meeting

September 27, 2005

 

 

The meeting was called to order at: 7:03pm by John Wruble.

 

Board members present: John Wruble, James Postma, Mike Churchill, and Shawn Hutchinson.

 

Also present: Joy Church, Battalion Chief Bob Jensen KCFD #40, and Officer Sam Shirley King County Sheriff’s Office.

 

The July minutes were read and approved.

 

King County Sheriff’s Department:  Officer Shirley reported some incidents of vandalism (eggings) in the greater Fairwood area.   There will be a new Sheriff’s Storefront Office in the Albertson’s Shopping Area next to the new Quizno’s.  Volunteers are needed.  If interested please contact Officer Shirley at (206) 296-3846.

 

Fire District #40 Report:  B/C Jensen asked homeowners to be prepared in case of a disaster.  More information can be found online at  http://www.fd40.com/   Chief Jensen also brought literature about Proposition 1 which would provide better financing for the new fire station.

 

Financial Report, Joy Church/Mike Churchill:  The funds have been transferred from Bank of America to US Bank.   Joy provided financials comparing last year’s budget this year’s expenditures.

 

Landscaping Report, Rob Wick.  Rob is working with a new representative from Malone’s landscaping.  He has noticed better results with our new landscaping company.

 

Block Watch, Shawn Hutchinson:  Two cars were burglarized in the Woodward neighborhood.  The garage door was left open overnight.

 

ACC, John Wruble:  A homeowner in the Gables submitted a plan for a home expansion.  The board agreed with the idea in principle but wanted to see more details before giving final approval.  John also mentioned there have been 20 homeowner projects to date.

 

Old Business:

 

John discussed the Fairwood Annexation.  Renton is asking the Boundary Review Board to annex Elliott Farms and Maplewood into the city limits.

 

The lien process was discussed and tabled to the next meeting.

 

New Business:

The budget for next year was reviewed.  Mike will be making the change to it as discussed and circulating to the board before the next meeting.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 9:37 pm.

 

The next Homeowner’s Association meeting will be October 25, 2005 at 7:00pm Nativity Lutheran Church, 17707 140th Ave SE.  This will be the Annual meeting and elections.
