Minutes of July 22nd, 2014

The meeting was called to order at 7:05 PM by president Chris Rodrigues.  Treasurer Meg Paul, Landscaping chairman Gordon Hill and Architectural chairman Sean Bauer were present. Shirleann Nold was not present.

Renton Fire District 40 was not represented this month.  Updates appear in the Fairwood Flyer. Shirleann Nold reported via email she has invited Renton Fire District to our “National Night Out” August 5th.

Minutes from the June meeting were approved as read.

The bookkeeper’s report was reviewed.  Joy Church is relocating to eastern Washington this fall and the board agreed to continue service with Blue Jeans Bookkeeping remotely.

Architectural Control: Sean Bauer submitted one approval for trim painting. The board is collecting contractor contact information from residence that has experienced success.    Please share your success stories and contact information with Sean using the board directory. We will make this information available on our web page.  All propose projects in the community need to have the approval of the architectural chairman.

Landscaping:  Malone’s landscaping has addressed many of the board’s concerns.  The sprinkler system is now working and the pathway between Woodward and Gables is groomed. The board is taking bids for low voltage lighting to replace the existing damaged system at the Gables entrance. The power washer is available upon request at 10.00 per day by the HOA. New Business: The board recognizes our 25 MPH speed limit is excessive.  The board will start the process with King County transportation to change our speed limit to 10 MPH.  Please note that the proposal of stop signs was a three year process.  We ask residence to make the streets of our community safe by slowing down.

“National Night Out” will be celebrated in our community on Tuesday, August 5th at 7:00 PM at the tot lot.  The Fire Department has been invited and ice cream will be served.  The board looks forward to big community turnout.

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 26, at 7:00 PM.  Homeowner’s are encouraged to attend.  The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 PM.
