Elliott Farm Homeowners’ Association
Minutes of August 26, 2014
The meeting was called to order at 7:05 PM by President Chris Rodrigues. Treasurer Meg Paul, Landscaping chair Gordon Hill, Architectural chair Sean Bauer and Secretary Shirleann Nold were also present.
Minutes from the July board meeting were approved as read.
No representatives from the King County Sherriff’s office or Fire District 40 were present.
Bookkeeper/Treasurer Joy Church sent a financial update. In essence we are concurrent with our budget. One property lien has been cleared.
There have been some ongoing issues regarding sprinklers, beauty bark, dead plants and shrub trimming. Gordon presented competing landscaping bids for the board’s consideration. We are also considering the addition of black vinyl fencing across the rear of the sports court to catch errant balls. A healthy arborvitae has been donated to replace a dead one at the entrance to Woodward. No decision has been made regarding necessary concrete improvement at the tot lot. There has been damage to lighting at the entrance to the Gables and the board is looking at competing bids for replacement. Our community is now 16 years old so these things can be expected to happen, but please speak to your children about using care while waiting for the school bus. Chris has been picking up trash along 140th. If you walk or run along the road, you might want to give him a hand by carrying a trash bag.
Sean reported that there have been no architectural submissions this month. Several projects that have been previously passed are in final stages of completion. Homeowners are strongly reminded that garbage cans are NOT to be seen from the street after scheduled pickup.
Old Business: The Elliot Farm Sign has been repainted but has not been relocated to the tot lot as yet. National Night Out was a neighborhood success. We missed the presence of Fire District 40 this year. One proud youngster enjoyed a record 7 ice creams!!
Our annual meeting will be held on October 28th at 7 PM. Please make a note on your calendar and make a point of inviting a neighbor to attend with you. This is the time to find out what is going on in your community and to address any issues of interest to you with the board.
The meeting adjourned at 7:45 PM. The next board meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 23rd, at 7:00 PM, at Nativity Lutheran Church on 140th and Petrovitsky.
Respectfully submitted,Shirleann Nold, secretary.
